Final Odds and Ends

Okay, I think this is going to be the last post about my recent background work experience.
Every day we spent the morning filming scenes with the photo doubles or the stunt doubles, WF and JH wouldn't arrive on set until after noon.
The 1st AD would direct us using a microphone, and he actually had a very pleasant voice, deep and resonant, and he always spoke with a calmness. Even when the day was getting long, and they had to retake a scene, he would say very patiently and pleasantly, "Okay, let's go again." And on Thursday night, even though it was getting extremely late, he sounded cheerful as he said, "Background action, Action!" take after take.
And there was one camera guy who was a fierce ice-skater, he could skate super fast. They used a camera rig that glided over the ice for a lot of shots, and this camera man would skate it around following the actors as they skated. The camera itself was controlled by remote I guess, this camera guy just skated the rig. But he was an amazing skater, and really loved showing off, get the background cheering for him. I don't think he knew how to figure skate though, he was much more of a speed skater.
