THE DIRECTOR'S PERSPECTIVEOur regular workshops are taught by award winning film director, Adam Collis. Adam directed the 20th Century Fox feature film, Sunset Strip, starring Simon Baker, Jared Leto, Nick Stahl, Adam Goldberg, Rory Cochran and Anna Friel. His next feature, The Long Blue Yonder, is being produced by Bill Mechanic, former CEO of 20th Century Fox. Adam is represented by the William Morris Agency and also teaches at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts.
Adam's workshops are designed from the director's perspective. Actors willimprove their craft and increase their castability while learning how tocommunicate more effectively with the director.
"I have in my lifetime cast and produced films with great directors like Sidney Lumet, Jonathan Demme, Amy Heckerling, Rick Linklater and six movies with Sean Penn. I put Adam Collis (for whom I cast Sunset Strip) in the same talented category when it comes to working with actors. He is kind, generous, patient and knows how to communicate with them, because he is an artist also."-- Don Phillips, producer & casting director, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Dog Day Afternoon, Dazed and Confused, etc.

OUR ACTORS WORK!It is a great honor to be working with such a large number or excellent working actors. Recently, Scott Derrickson, director of The Day the Earth Stood Stillsaid this about his visit: "...you should be looking now for a bigger room, because if your class is that good and that big already, it'll be much bigger in no time."
Check out the extraordinary success of our actors:
Randy Ryan has a supporting role in Michael Mann's Public Enemies and is currently shooting the indie feature, Amanda, in leading male role:
"I highly recommend Adam as a professional acting coach. It's amazing how much Adam's techniques have informed my acting choices. Adam is a master at helping me make better choices about the internal/external struggles of the roles I play. He is a real actor's director, a flexible, supportive artist who is not afraid to call an actor out for weak choices. Adam gets it. He can help ANY actor. You want to work with him. In a short time, I went a long way with Adam Collis."
~~~~~~~~~~
Katie Ross is currently shooting the indie pic Revenge in the leading female role:
"Adam Collis has a way of taking the actor out of their head and reminding them how to apply themselves to create a character. He finds the tiny details in a scene that tie in the whole story, which has made the difference between auditioning and booking a job."
~~~~~~~~~~
Kati Sharp is finishing up her first leading role in the horror film, See How They Run:
"Adam's class has really helped me grow as a working actor. Having a coach with a director's background has taught me the work needed to be done before you even step on set. It has also given me a clear understanding of what a director is looking for from their actors. The tools he has given me to bring layers and depth to my characters has made my work solid and defined. It is truly a huge growing experience."
~~~~~~~~~~
Brandon Hearnsberger is heading to the Ally Theatre in Houston, TX to star as the title character, Philo T. Farnsworth, in The Farnsworth Invention by Aaron Sorkin. Obie winner David Cromer is directing.
I have learned how to be a more thoughtful and decisive actor through Adam's straightforward approach, incisive commentary, and encouraging honesty.Adam combines the wisdom of a seasoned professional with the intuition of a zen master."
